I just LOVE how this new warm, reddish-brown clay is popping against the solid glaze colors!

For all you pottery nerds out there, this is Kentucky Mudworks' Big Turtle fired to ^6 glazed with Kentucky Mudworks' Glacier. 🥰

Now, here is an interesting bit of pottery making and something I am still getting the hang of. To what am I referring?

Oh, you mean...shrinkage.

Yes, significant shrinkage!

All pottery shrinks to some degree during the drying and firing process

Mmmm that creamy variation in this rich goldenrod color is just the *chef's kiss*.
